Future of Energy
Future of Energy is an energy model that is based mostly on the consumption of fossil fuels for transportation and the generation of electric energy. Hydrogen is the lighter chemical element and can behave as a gas or a liquid depending on the environmental conditions. Currently, there are quite developed and efficient engines that use hydrogen to operate.
The fuels generated from some vegetables are already a reality. They operate on most current engines and produce between 20% and 40% less gaseous pollutants. Plants like corn or sugar are used to produce them.

Although solar energy is already a reality and is relatively consolidated, there is still a long way to go. Photovoltaic panels, the most widespread method for obtaining electrical energy from the sun, have a very poor performance, between 10% and 15% of the solar radiation is transformed into electricity.
Current nuclear power plants often use uranium or plutonium as fuel. These two elements are highly radioactive and their treatment is very dangerous. But there is an alternative that could be a revolution, the Torio.
Nuclear fission energy (the nuclear power plants of the whole life) is a very efficient and effective method for the production of electrical energy. It does not produce greenhouse gases, you can control the amount of energy you want to generate and it is relatively inexpensive.
While we wait for nuclear fusion to provide us with a virtually unlimited and very cheap source of energy, we will have to settle for traditional processes. In the short term, the most sensible thing is to bet on renewables and to maintain research and development in them. Energy is the great challenge of 21st-century humanity, and our success in this field will depend, to a large extent, on our future survival.
